I know it has been forever since I have updated. Life is just way too crazy. In the last 4 months we have moved twice, graduated from college (at least Westin did), started a real job, and gotten very VERY pregnant. I had planned a whole big blog post talking about Celiac Disease/infertility boring stuff and I just never got around to it so instead you get this very shortened version and it goes like this:
We were having a hard time getting pregnant after we had Serena and after trying numerous other options (fertility pills, diets, ect...) I finally got diagnosed with Celiac Disease which can cause infertility. 3 months after going gluten free I got pregnant without really trying! So, Celiac Disease is hereditary so if you are related to me and are having a hard time getting pregnant it is probably something you should check into. And I am more than happy to talk about it (infertility, all the in's and out's of eating gluten free) with anyone. If you have questions please don't hesitate to call, email, facebook...
End of what could have been a super long blog post.
Anyway, we are super excited to have this little boy joining our family! Here is the pregnancy announcement my super creative husband came up with. Although, I am afraid to say that I think my belly might be even bigger than he predicted... you be the judge.
5.5 Weeks
37..5 Weeks
This pregnancy has been so much different than my first! I was super sick with both, but this time seems to have been a different kind of sick, and it has been trickier finding things to nibble on that are gluten free (but not impossible, and not disgusting). Serena was such a tiny baby (5.5 lbs when she was born at 37 weeks) that this pregnancy seems much more uncomfortable. I had an ultrasound at 34 weeks and he was already 4.75 lbs! Which means now he is way bigger than Serena was when she was born and I still have 2 weeks till my due date! But it is kind of fun waiting to see when I will go into labor. Every time I call my mom she asks if I'm in labor yet, definitely different than just going in at 37 weeks and having a c-section like I did with Serena.
We are all so excited and anxious for this baby to be born. Serena is so happy to get to be a big sister and just loves all the baby things we've been pulling out for baby brother. Westin is pretty much gone this whole week for work, so we are hoping for this little guy to come sometime after Friday, and since I'm not due till October 15th, I'm thinking I will be able to make it at least till then... hopefully. Actually part of me really wants to have him RIGHT NOW! But I suppose I can wait till he is ready to come on his own.
I have some other blog posts I want to get done before this guy comes so don't be surprised if another one or two pop up before the big baby announcement... but then again don't be surprised if they don't get done either.
